Credit commentary:
The director is providing a personal guarantee, this means that if the business fails the director becomes personally liable for the loan. The director is a homeowner, however, this does not ensure there are sufficient assets should the loan need to be recovered. There have been no CCJs for the business or director. This is a credit policy exception as the debt servicing capacity of the company is below credit policy requirements and the tangible net worth is negative due to an intercompany loan. This is mitigated by the cashflow forecast, which we were provided with, showing net cash generation of c. £60k after loan repayments. The company will also be providing evidence to show the intercompany loan has been repaid before the end of April 2023, which will increase tangible net worth to within credit policy. The Equifax score and grade, on which we base our assessment of risk, are based on the December 2021 filed accounts. We have performed our assessment on recent financial information, including the December 2022 final accounts, which were not available to Equifax. The December 2022 accounts below show that pre-tax profit was £53,923 and net equity was £84,371. The bank statements demonstrate reasonable affordability and the accounts remain well in credit.

Inflation Risk:
As the majority of lending to the business is at a fixed rate, they will not be immediately affected by interest rate increases. The directors do not expect to draw money from the business as all capital is vital for the growth of the business.
