Established in the early 1900s, Manor House School provides an optimal environment for its students to learn, grow, and develop in an idyllic, historic location. Their academic success is outstanding, as is their satisfaction rate from parents and students alike. They aim to continue their excellent standards, and with the funds raised they will further expand what they offer.

Unlocking potential and equipping students for the future

Set in a Victorian manor house in picturesque surroundings beside Ashby de la Zouch Castle, we are an independent day school in Leicestershire for boys and girls of all abilities, aged 4-16 years, which includes an infant, junior, middle, and senior school. Our building is steeped in history, even mentioned in the 1086 Domesday Book, owned by the Earl of Leicester. However, our ethos is throughly forward-thinking: our main aim is to nurture and educate future leaders, while taking into consideration individual challenges and needs. Our headteacher, Mr Andrew Messent, leads our team of supportive and experienced staff who encourage our students to develop and excel in traditional academic classes, creative outlets, and sports endeavours. This is evident as we are proud to announce that our GCSE results for 2017 follow our record of a 100% pass rate.

We like to maintain a close relationship with the parents of our students, and keep our website up-to-date with our various forthcoming events and news. Something that sets us further apart from other independent schools is that we do not require entrance exams; rather, we offer two free taster days to see if our prospective students would be happy at our establishment and as part of our close-knit community. This works well for us, as we are part of the Independent Schools Association, a body that accredits 350 of the UK’s highest performing independent schools. In order to continue and expand this success, we will use the money raised to develop what our school offers, including branching out into A level education and extending our curriculum.
