Bringing the Street foods and flavours of Asia to the streets of Europe.
Born & brought up in an Asian household in the UK, I was always exposed to exciting and colourful flavours. Working in my Dad’s grocery business whilst growing up, I learnt the trends and techniques of trading in Asian foods. After completing my studies, I worked for 20 years in Asian Food manufacture & packaging and learnt the trade first hand, acknowledging all the hurdles and potential setbacks along the way. With the combination of knowing the best flavours & recipes, accumulation of priceless contacts from all over the world and hands-on, all-round experience of product development, supply chain, manufacture, sales, distribution and quality control I gained the perfect blend of ingredients to plan for a business of my own. In May 2020, I started Snack Fresh Ltd.
All of our products are manufactured here in the UK. We focus entirely on perfection in our family of products, with no time for distraction. We continuously research eco-friendly and biodegradable solutions for both manufacture and packaging. Our commitment to hygiene, quality control and cleanliness within the workplace goes over and above the requirements set. Our workforce operates as a family and everyone is treated with respect. Our customers and suppliers maintain a productive yet friendly relationship with us; quoting that we are easy and pleasant to work with.
We are proud that our products are so successful which is reflected by our continuous annual growth. Also, our product had rocketed to Number 1 best seller in the Amazon Bombay Mix section. A number of our products have been used on numerous occasions by celebrity chefs at various food expositions. Our flagship product is one of the fastest growing lines in the Asian Snack sector and is still NOT available yet on any supermarket world food aisle. Our flagship product is, as well as the rest of our family of products, Asian in origin. However, due to our unique twist, it has become an international cuisine as many Chefs in top restaurants are using it up and down the country with their own variations.
Credit Commentary:
The director Kama Rao is providing a personal guarantee, which means should the business fail and have insufficient assets within the business to repay the loan, we can look to the guarantor(s) to repay any shortfall on repayment. There have been no CCJs for the business or director. The Equifax score and grade, on which we base our assessment of risk, are based on the May 2023 filed accounts. In the statutory accounts, admin costs were £330,862, showing that profit before tax was £89,318 and net equity was £74,646. The financial profile of the business is strong with an EBITDA of c. £421k, compared to c. £378k in 2022. Gross margin is increasing, due to cost reductions and increasing turnover. The bank statements demonstrate reasonable affordability and the accounts remain well in credit.
Inflation Risk:
The company suggested that despite the food industry dealing with rising costs of goods, its manufacturing operation enjoys a substantial profit margin, allowing it to tolerate fluctuations in raw material costs. If they see necessary, the company is prepared to implement a price increase and communicate this adjustment to their customers in an effective manner.
