The Centre Stage Group, trading as Centre Stage Uniforms, is a manufacturer of uniforms for brass bands. They supply outfits for the likes of the Salvation Army, Whitburn Band and Ipswich Over 50s Band. The founder, Martin Gernon, is an active member of the global brass band community himself and is currently playing for and chairman of the world-famous Fairey (Geneva) Band. With the funds raised, they will be buying back equity from a shareholder and funding further growth into the US market.

Quality, price, choice and service – a wonderful combination.

Centre Stage Group* was founded 10 years ago by Martin Gernon, a business professional with a pedigree in textiles and overseas sourcing, as well as a lifelong player and supporter of brass bands. Martin is well known in the brass band world, with several successful business ventures in the industry, including organising the Band of the Year competition and co-founding a popular brass concert streaming site. He is also a musician and chairman of the world-famous Fairey (Geneva) Band, meaning we have an exceptional understanding of the challenges facing bands and an extensive network in the community.

From our industry experience, we know all too well that one of the biggest expenses for bands is their uniforms, with our competitors charging above and beyond what most bands can afford. Having spent many years sourcing quality products and forging strong relationships with high-quality manufacturers in the Far East, we are able to manufacture bespoke uniforms for a highly-competitive price at our specialised production facility in Hong Kong. Without compromising quality, we have managed to manufacture smart uniforms, earning hundreds of positive reviews.

With investments and continued support from the brass band community, we have transformed the Centre Stage business, enabling it to achieve sustainable growth year on year to the point where it is now the UK market leader for the supply of band uniforms. With the funds raised, we will be buying back shares from a current shareholder who is moving on and will fund further expansion, covering the overheads required to take on some big orders in 2020, following a new sales channel in the USA.
