Buy and sell investments on
The Small Business Exchange

Access your capital

The Exchange allows you to diversify your portfolio easily and quickly. We are thrilled to offer this unique and recently enhanced feature to the Crowd2Fund investor community.

Investors can potentially access their funds and trade loans for profit or loss. Importantly, it also introduces a much-valued social element to the platform - linking a community of supportive investors to like-minded entrepreneurs.

How it works

The Exchange is a marketplace which allows investors to trade their Crowd2Fund investments, giving sellers flexible access to their capital and offering loans for buyers.

The Exchange also allows you to lend your capital into loans that are already repaying. You can see the track record of the repayments and recent performance of the business, diversify your portfolio and make a profit or loss from your transactions.

Selling

We’ve made it simple for you to list your sale on The Exchange. Investments can be sold from My investments page.

You decide the sale price for the investment. Offering a higher interest rate may encourage a quicker sale, allowing you to access your capital sooner.

The market is currently restricted. Only good loans are approved for listing on the Exchange to help protect you and potential buyers. You can see detail on the restrictions below.

Buying

All current opportunities are listed on The Exchange. All listings are reviewed and repriced on the platform based on the change in risk of the business.

Our team assess and approve every listing to help protect you from losses. Purchasing an investment will simply transfer ownership into your portfolio and the business repays you directly.

When purchasing an investment on the exchange you are buying the Sale Price and equivalent APR. The business keeps paying the original APR.

New cutting-edge improvements

Algorithmic floor and ceiling price calculations

To help sellers define a fair sale price, and make sure the risk relates to the reward, our system measures the business performance since the loan was first issued. Several variables are measured, such as Equifax score and most recent financials to adjust the floor price up or down based on recent performance. You retain control and can set the price between the floor and ceiling – allowing you to trade.

Automated loan monitoring

All loans are monitored based on their performance for key risk indicators. These include: if the company received a CCJ, went into liquidation, filed late accounts, industry sector changes, any negative media or has the director received a CCJ. If any of these variables are flagged then the loan does not get listed. Only loans that are on track and repaying correctly are approved for listing.

Enhanced investor onboarding

Investors undertake a short questionnaire so they understand how the exchange works and the risks of trading on a marketplace. It’s a simple step that takes a few seconds and there is supporting information explaining how the Exchange works.

Temporary limitations to new listings

Because this is a new feature that we’re testing with our live investor base, we’re limiting the types of businesses that can be approved. Only businesses that have received a loan since September 2021 or Before September 2020 and of Equifax grading A, B or C will be approved. This reduces risk for any buyers and ensures we smoothly deploy this revolutionary new small business Exchange.

More detailed financial health section on Campaign pages

Each campaign page has been amended to include more information about the business’s financial health. This includes additional financial information and an updated Equifax score. This allows you to get a better understanding of the recent performance of the business before you make an investment decision.

Credit risk review of each listing

In addition to automated loan monitoring, every listing is reviewed and manually approved by one of our team. This aims to give buyers further reassurance that the investment is sound, and the price offered reflects the associated risk of the business.
