Marie Sinclair and Sach Singh are the face and founders of Genuine Cakes (GC) Couture, an award-winning luxury cake company based in Mayfair, London. We are incredibly proud of how far they have come going on to provide cakes for high-profile celebrity clients such as Cheryl Cole, Michelin-star chef Gordon Ramsay, and even events for the Royal Family.
They have raised funds on Crowd2Fund several times to expand and grow their company throughout the years, from raising funds to refurbish their shops, to raising funds to purchase commercial ovens and mixers. Most recently, investing in an e-commerce platform, successfully raising £48k in just three days to expand their letterbox cakes offering, a product that has recently boomed since lockdown.
Their business began ten years ago when Marie Sinclair was baking cakes for her friends and family and over time, it became clear to her that it was more than a hobby, but a passion that she wanted to turn into something bigger, and soon left her full-time job as a graphic designer to start up the business. She teamed up with Sach Sign, the other brains behind the business, and he became the Managing Director of GC Couture. In charge of the structure, strategy and business development, Sach is another huge part of GC Couture’s success.
They opened their cake showroom in the heart of Mayfair London and have established themselves as the preferred cake suppliers for top London Hotels such as; Claridge’s, The Four Seasons, The Lanesborough, The Connaught, The Savoy, The Stafford, The Goring, Bulgari Hotel London as well as Le Manoir in Oxford. They are also a reputable supplier at Selfridges.
Creating mouthwatering recipes to cater to a large variety of audiences, GC Couture creates one of a kind cakes have created over 50 innovative recipes, including the famous ‘Fruitcake without the bits’. They also expanded their product range to include vegan, gluten-free, dairy-free and eggless options to meet client demand and to make sure no one misses out on their deliciousness. Each cake is carefully handcrafted and skillfully handmade by their specialist team and delivered with great care.
